Workshop Information
In the morning we will go through the basics of setting up the machine for successful embroidery. We will look at the different types of stabilisers available and what they are used for, needles and thread suitability, hooping techniques, how to bring up a design and stitching it out.
In the afternoon we will cover editing designs, pin pointing, shape designer and applique.
Requirements
Sewing machine and embroidery unit
Sewing machine table, cables
Foot 24
Tear-away stabiliser
Embroidery threads (40wte)
Bobbin Thread (60wte)
Yellow Bobbin case (if you have one)
Size 75 Needle
1 metre of calico
Scraps of patterned fabric
For the Stitch Book we will be making:
1mtr White Cotton Fabric
1mtr Light fusible interfacing (white)
1mtr Pellon 72F Peltex Double sided fusible shape flex (we hope to have this available in the shop)
White, Blue/turquoise and Pink thread
2” Binder ring (Available in the shop)
Different coloured cotton threads for stitching out decorative stitches
A few Fat Quarters of fabric if you want to make different fabric choices for some of the stitch book pages
Oval& Medium Hoop
Bond-a-web
Fabrics if you want to make different fabric choices for some of the stitch book pages
USB stick with designs on for the workshop will be provided for a small charge
