Deena Beverley‘s exhibition ‘Playful Stitch and Other Stories’ offers viewers a sneak peek at Deena’s previously unreleased work, ahead of the November  publication of ‘Playful Stitch: Joyful Journeys in Textile Art’ for Batsford: her 18th book.
Deena works almost entirely with found, vintage materials including paper and card as well as fabric and thread. A strongly illustrative style pervades her work, which is often narrative in nature, and draws its subject range from both everyday pursuits as prosaic as stringing rhubarb for crumble, through to personal passions like crinoline ladies and vintage dolls, as well as dipping into the land of fairytales and a wider sense of storytelling.

Deena is teaching her popular Bobbin Boro Diaries hand stitch workshop, having created a bespoke coastal edition especially for Cowslip, on September 24 and 25 and 26 and 27-ends
