Come and turn Janine’s December illustration for the Cowslip 2027 Diary into stitch using her special method of free machine appliqué.

These will be larger, to make as a panel or, you could turn them into a wonderful quilt.

Requirements:

Sewing machine, (with ability to put feed dog down or cover) in good working order with manual

Open toed darning foot

Background fabric of your choosing (we would recommend a neutral cotton/linen or calico)

Scraps of fabric to use for all the detail

Dark 60 or 50w thread for drawing with a pack of  size 80 needles

At least a metre of stitch & tear

Sharp small scissors for trimming (Janine recommends Karen J Buckley red curved blade as these trim very close)

Pencil to draw with – lightbox, if you have one

General sewing kit for machine sewing
