Join me for this two day inspiring workshop where you’ll design and create your own unique piece of abstract textile art, inspired by the colours and textures of the coast. I’ll be there to guide you every step of the way, offering demonstrations and hands-on support to help you bring your vision to life.

At the heart of this experience is a shared desire to capture the spirit of the coast through fabric, thread, and mixed media.

I will cover the following,

• Fabric selection and colour choices.

• How to heat manipulate fabrics using a heat gun to create interesting textures.

• How to combine your materials and create movement in your piece.

• Help with selecting embellishments such as button, beads and coastal finds to create a balanced piece of work.

• Help with hand embroidery finishing touches.

The size of your finished piece will be approximately 6” x 20”

IMPORTANT…..What you need to bring with you.

• A sewing machine that can be adapted for free motion sewing (you will need to be able to drop the feed dog or have a plate that fits over the top.)
• Free motion foot / darning foot compatible with your machine.
• Spare bobbins.
• Reel of invisible thread ( you can purchase this from me on the day).
• Reel of white bobbinfil (you can purchase this from me on the day).
• Basic sewing kit (to include both a large and small pair of scissors).
• Embroidery needles for your sewing machine. I would recommend a 75/11 size.
