Wool Appliqué Cushion
Workshop Information
This floral design is stitched in wool appliqué, using the beautiful hand dyed Blackberry Primitive Wools.
If you are new to working with wool, this would be a great piece to start with, however it it is also a fun project for those with experience as well. Bring felted wools with you or select from the wonderful Blackberry Primitive colours available in the shop.
Requirements – pattern is included in class
wool background for appliqué – approx 22″ x 14″ (I used wool but you can use any fabric)
stems & leaves (I used 2 different greens) approx 8″ x 10″ & 8″ x 4″
Basket approx 8″ x 4″
Flowers, decorative elements – scraps in your choice of colours
piece for back of cushion approx 22″ x 14″ (I used a one piece back, but more fabric needed if you prefer an overlapping or button closure
You will also need
50cm freezer paper
pencil
scissors
rotary cutter
thread – colours similar to wool colours, they do not have to match exactly
pins – appliqué pins work best but bring what you have
normal sewing equipment
