Understanding Colour for your Quilt Projects – Yvette Wiltshire
Workshop Information
This workshop provides the fundamental building blocks to assist you in making great colour combinations for your quilt projects, ideal for ‘Quilting’ Beginners to learn colour theories and what colours work best together or for anyone that needs to brush up their existing skills and knowledge base. You will learn how colours can create stunning effects using a series of colour exercises using both Watercolour Paints and Fabric. Working with Cool and Warm Primary Colours to create Monotone, Harmonious, Complementary and Triadic Colour Schemes. Understanding colour relationships and why some work so well together is a fascinating subject matter and will help you with your own fabric choices.
Students requirements
· 5 different coloured items, such as a glove, a sock, scarf, handkerchief and small bag etc.…. (at least 1 Blue, 1 Red and 1 Yellow along with 2 different colours of your choice)
· A small collection of scrap fabric if you have any.
· Fabric Scissors & Paper Scissors
· Pritt Stick
· Double Sided Tape
· Pencil
· Ruler (Not a Quilters Ruler, a 12″ Desk Ruler)
· Notepaper / Pad
