Textile Christmas Cards & Mini Bunting – Jo Colwill
Workshop Information
Using little scraps decorative threads, stitches, buttons, ribbons, recycled card, stamps, bits and bobs make your own unique individual cards or mini bunting. A fun day creating something really unique for a special person or 2!!!!
STUDENT REQUIREMENTS
· Scrap bag of wintery bits and bobs any little picture fabrics all those small bits of fabric that you don’t know what to do with but I never throw away! you could even piece 6 x 6 either 1” or even ½ “ squares together before you come.
· Bits of felt especially red
· Basic sewing kit, PVA glue and Pritt stick and glue pens, I will have stamps and ink, but bring your own with name on.
· Some handmade paper could be a cheap book of Dale Roley water colour paper that we can tea dye and cut, recycled (including corrugated) card tissue, raffia, ribbons, buttons, embroidery threads machine and hand.
· Small amount of star anise, cloves, bay leaves, any dried oak leaves pick them up and press under a book for a couple of weeks between tissue.
· Paper and fabric scissors, basic sewing kit, pinking shears if available, big eye needle and 90 sewing machine needle
· Sewing machine (optional) in good working order, plus instructions. Blocks can be hand or machine pieced
· I will have scrap bag and recycled card available but bring a small amount of old Christmas cards if available to cut up
