St Barts & Garden Party

  “I have memories of fabric, yarn and bric a brac shopping with my mother, as far back as I can remember.  I was fortunate to discover patchwork and quilting 25 years ago and I have been smitten ever since. It was a natural progression for me to begin teaching and designing culminating in the release of my first book, Quilts for Life, Made with Love, published by Quiltmania.  I would describe my style as modern vintage combined with a love of Liberty fabrics and anything with a rose on it. I am never bored and always happy with a needle and thread in my hands.”
You have the choice to start to make either or both of these quilts on either day or come for 2 days and do both! 
Student requirements: St Barts
2.4 m (2 1/2 yds) linen (140cm wide)
25cm of assorted patterned fabrics totaling approximately 3m (3 ¼ yds)
90cm (1yd) binding, cut on a 45 degree bias at 2” wide
4” clamshell quilt stencil
Pale pink Perle 8 thread for quilting
4.2m (4 ½ yds) backing
4.4m quilt lite woven cotton batting (110cm 44” wide), joined
General sewing requirements, needles, pins, thread etc.
This quilt is machine pieced and hand quilted
Acrylic templates are available for this pattern.
Student requirements: Garden Party
Garden party is a small quilt with paper pieced blocks, five designs in total and made in whimsical fabrics then appliqued on to a background.  I have sashed this quilt in a beautiful black lace stripe pattern and hand quilted it.
2 m of pink background fabric
2m of sashing
(depending on your choice of fabric and the width of the stripe pattern), you may need 2.5m
Up to 2 metres of a variety of scrappy fabrics,
Fat 16ths and small amounts for the blocks
Garden Party templates and papers (see email address below if you require these)
General Sewing requirements including applique pins, needles, thread and glue for paper piecing if that is your preferred method
Batting and backing to fit
Pale pink Perle 8 DMC thread for quilting
