A practical workshop to help you achieve prize-winning accuracy, with masses of techniques, information and advice on every stage of the piecing process. Fabric selection, using the correct rotary cutting methods, sewing accurate seams, matching points and pressing are examined in detail with extensive demonstrations. Make a perfect ‘no points lost’ block, add double borders with mitred corners and never be frustrated again! 
 
 
STUDENT REQUIREMENTS
 Four pieces of fabric as follows:        Light fabric – one fat quarter.        Medium Fabric – one fat quarter.        Dark fabric – one fat quarter.        ‘Focus’ fabric – half a metre/yard.
Please note that I have allowed a generous amount of fabric to allow for completing the piece (in case you need to re-cut anything!).Matching fine sewing thread.Equipment:Sewing machine with slide on table and knee bar if available.Fine sewing machine needles.Scissors for fabric and thread.Rotary cutter and mat. A sharp blade is an advantage!Ruler – 18” minimum.Square – 6½” or slightly bigger (a 6”square is too small).Fine pins.Extension cord.Notebook and pen.Quarter inch sewing machine foot.A fine fabric/straight stitch plate if you have one.Pattern and detailed colour photocopies: £2.00.Please contact me with any questions.
