Machine Embellishing
Workshop Information
Embellishing is an alternative way of using the needle felter attachment on the machine to bind the fabrics together, you then stitch on top to hold together.
Students will embellish small pieces of fabric onto a backing and then make up as a ‘quilt’ square with wadding. Hand stitch with coloured thread, embellish by adding beads/buttons/embroidery and then make up into a cushion. It would be possible to make into a bag if two sides were made. For those of you who have seen Tricias beautiful work this needs no introduction, I felt the need to purchase her lovely indigo quilt…. you will need to have an embellishing machine for this course or an attachment is available for Bernina, so long as you clean the machine it does no harm and is brilliant.
