Janet Clare Evening

Welcome to Cowslip to Janet who has published many lovely books and designed gorgeous fabric collections for Moda. We are delighted that this year she will be giving a talk about being “Janet Clare” an insight into her inspirations and creativity.
‘I’m a designer’
Janet will talk briefly about her design training and her knitwear designing career before showing a wide range of items from her very first (and slightly disastrous) quilt, to how she keeps herself focused and inspired whilst working from home, to sketchbooks and mood boards to the latest project she is working on. Sometimes she is able to give you a cheeky preview of an upcoming fabric collection or book before it goes on sale! Janet likes her talks to be informal and chatty.
‘I’m an author’
Janet will talk about her book writing experiences comparing the self- publishing process (where she meets her photographer and graphic designer for Mojito’s to swap ideas) with that of writing a book with the craft publisher ‘David and Charles’. She’ll share as many projects and sketchbooks with you as she can and tell you the lessons she has learnt through writing four books.
