Introduction to Basic Patchwork and Machine Piecing

I will start by explaining how to use  rotary cutter and quick piecing techniques demonstrating a different technique each week.  Design a simple quilt, talking about squares, stars, using triangles and machine piecing using ¼” foot which speeds up the process. Quilts can still have a very handmade feel but there are lots of tips and short cuts which help with accuracy. The main thing is to have fun… not stress, possibly use up or incorporate old fabrics or children’s dresses.  Basic explanation of quilting threads and stitches, will also explain /demo bonded appliqué.
