Creative Free Stitching with your Bernina BSR & Embroidery Unit
Workshop Information
Moving on from using the Walking Foot using your BSR is far more free and creative. You need to spend time practising, possibly a little every day! This gives you confidence and increases your skill at developing your own unique quilting patterns.
For those who have an embroidery unit, using the built in patterns which come with it and the hoop Jane can show you how much more you can get out of it!
Students Requirement List:
Sewing machine complete with lead, foot control, slide-on table, walking foot, BRS(if applicable)
Quilt sandwiches. It will save you time on the day if you want to prepare your fabric beforehand, I would suggest making them at least 13”x13” (you can get 9 squares from 1 metre, use plain calico on 1 side and a patterned fabric of your choice on the other side, add wadding and pin the corners).
Bring a little more fabric just in case you want to make more than 9 samples.
Thread. I recommend a pale thread, pink, blue or lilac but not beige or cream as this will not show on the calico.
Sewing kits, scissors, ruler marker pen. etc.
Cutting mat, ruler & Rotary cutter (Not needed if you have already prepared your quilt sandwiches)
