Christmas In August!! – Jo Colwill & Helen Brookham

A day or two of fun : Christmas seems to be arriving earlier and earlier! Whether a beginner or more experienced a chance to come and spend a day or 2 making a Christmas quilt/throw, you can simply make a pieced quilt or add appliqué on top of your piecing. We have several different versions to inspire you. You will have fun as well as learning new techniques. You can choose cotton fabrics or cosy winter flannels.

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS
·       BASIC SEWING KIT to include: paper and fabric scissors, pins, sewing threads to match or grey or colour to blend with all, for piecing, also to match your appliqué fabric, Basic rotary cutting equipment if available etc. 
·       SEWING MACHINE in good working order with instruction book.  Pencils and note book
·      FABRICS: bring whatever Christmas fabrics you have available. For the square quilt roughly 2 metres of mixed cotton or flannel to cut into a good variety of squares. Fabric for appliqué stems, leaves and berries.  Re-cycled fabrics from clothes can also be used.
·      PICTURE FABRICS: to be cut up
·      EMBROIDERY THREADS: silver grey cotton Perlé for stitch trees or hand sewing metallic.
