Artwork for Textiles

This workshop is designed to help people develop imagery and ideas to create original and individual textiles. We will start with a simple, easy and  achievable  collage exercise. Building on this process we will develop a design/artwork on paper ,inspired by a favourite painting or image, and then translate the artwork into stitch.
STUDENT REQUIREMENTS

Sketchbook…If you have one
Couple of glossy magazines. ..country living and interiors…are my favourites.
 A4 pad of cartridge paper.
Scraps of fabric…patterned and plain.
About half metre of old wool blanket…If you have it,l will bring some with me for those who don’t!
Embroidery threads.
Pins and needles.
Sissors.
Please bring an image that inspires you,preferably a painting, from a book,from a greeting card etc…

I will bring oil pastels and PVA glue and  brushes for the  collage…but do bring your own if you have them.
