We are delighted to have Sue back at Cowslip, and she will also have an exhibition in the barn.
For these workshops Sue is proposing 3 projects which you can choose from:
Memory napkins… “In this age when our phones are full of photos of our holidays it’s nice to sit and stitch a few memories. A dragonfly the size  of a saucer in Barbados, a tiny Alice door in the backstreets of Jamaica, looking at an old alphabet sampler with friends in Manchester, a pot of marmalade in Rye. It’s often the small things that trigger a memory, a few words captured by a grandchild. I like to take these memories and using a few scraps of fabric and thread and a vintage napkin, and bring them to life.” (price of kit to follow, please let us know if you would like one so Sue can prepare)
Dahlias and Green tea… this quilt uses a variety of epp shapes together with needle turned appliqué. We will prepare a few starter packs so let us know if you would like one (price to follow).
Xmas bobbin roll… stitch lots of Christmas memories on to a vintage fabric bobbin roll. This option comes with a kit to make a start on this slow stitch project. Kit comes with a vintage wooden bobbin roll, a long strip of Calico or vintage fabric and lots of scraps, threads, lace etc. Please feel free to bring any special moments you wish to include. A favourite brooch. Train ticket, concert ticket l can be incorporated . (Cost of kit will be £30 payable to Sue on the day, please let us know if you would like one so Sue can prepare).
Please bring a general hand sewing kit, including a selection of threads.
