This 2 day workshop celebrates the garden as a haven and place of creativity. Drawing on fabrics you have stashed away build your own garden paradise and populate it with favorite plants, animals and birds. Inspiration could come from the fabrics themselves or  based on a real place or idea of a garden, Collage, applique, hand and machine embroidery plus other techniques will be employed in the process.

Materials list

Sewing Machine with manual, accessories and stitches guide

A good selection of coloured threads (bearing in mind the subject matter).

Scrap bag of fabrics (natural fibres are good and not too heavy weight).Hopefully to swap and share.

Scissors

A hand sewing kit: pins, needle, thread, and a few silks for any finishing touches.

Some Bondaweb or Heatbond. There will be some available to purchase if needed.

Reference materials, if you have something specific in mind do bring a sketch, a reference book or a printout of your photo along.

I will supply participants with the backing at no extra charge.
