Tumbling Triangles and Floating Stars

Both these quilt designs are fun to make, great to look at and wonderfully stress-free  – each star and triangle floats on the background fabric, so there’s never a danger of losing the points in the joining seams..how good is that? The Tumbling Triangles block will be tackled first and then later in the day students have the chance to make a Floating Star block.  Both blocks are ideal for either structured quilts or scrap quilts, and there will lots of tips and suggestions for ways of taking the basic ideas and reapplying or adapting them in future projects .
