Be My Valentine – Jo Colwill

A bright little wallhanging combining bonded appliqué, buttons, stitches, flowers, animals, hearts, mini bunting, some simple writing and the odd house. Whether beginner or more experienced a happy day using a bonding technique for appliqué , something special for your loved one! Or just simply brighten up a room. Various different finishing techniques will be incorporated and machine or hand embellishment will be encouraged.
Students requirements

Basic sewing kit to include: paper and fabric scissors, pins, sewing threads to match
Sewing machine in good working order with instruction book, open toe foot is good if doing machine blanket stitch.
Rotary Cutter, Cutting Mat, Ruler (Omnigrid type) if you have to bring with you, if not you can borrow or purchase in our shop with 10% discount if you buy all three.
Tracing paper, template card, fine black felt pen, Pritt stick or glue
Pencils and note book
Fabrics a fat quarter for the background possibly linen or I have used a printed bird fabric, scrap bag and red for hearts
Embroidery threads and button jar if available
Bondaweb or steam a seam for appliqué
Wadding/backing small scraps like 12” ish will be fine.
