Christmas Bonanza – Maggie & Jo Colwill

This workshop is for beginners and the more experienced. The 2 days will provide a Christmassy, inspirational atmosphere where students can relax and have fun whilst preparing for the festive season.  The emphasis is on making a meaningful gift or small cosy quilt, or picture wallhanging, possibly in a painted wooden frame.  Large or small drawstring bags with writing, Father Christmas’ sack, spicy pie-crust cushions,  ‘long tall’ Mr & Mrs Christmas, 3D angels, handmade cards, gift tags, decorated boxes including some paper and fabric decoupage, stamping, copper and pewter, hand and machine embroidery and paint effects for small items. A new welcome wreath for the door, gingerbread men or angel swag using wooden, fabric or cooked men (biscuits)! and bay leaves……painted pots crackled for your candles and decorated with lavender, herbs and spices. Some use of fresh and dried flowers will be incorporated.
 
STUDENT REQUIREMENTS

FABRICS A selection of pre-washed festive red’s, greens, golds, white, plaids, checks, scrap bag, calico, any fabrics that are available to suit students’ colour scheme. Calico or fabric suitable for Raggy Jo & Steve dolly body stuffing, also fabric suitable for stamping little designs onto

BASIC WOODEN ANGEL BODY AND SHOES To be used singly or on welcome wreath. Available for students to paint and dress. To help Maggie please pre-order body(s), £10.00 each, tick box below

BASIC SEWING KIT To include pins, needles, sewing threads, paper and fabric scissors, pens, pencil, ruler, stuffing, and beads, stars, baubles, bells, buttons, decorative threads, rustic twine, or ribbons
SEWING MACHINE & INSTRUCTIONS

LITTLE BOX, basket or container, plant pot to decorate. Handmade paper, brown paper or tissue to stencil, stampS

  CARDBOARD OR TEMPLATE PLASTIC   Pritt stick, note book, star anise, bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, spices, birch twigs. Gold felt pen if available, 1”/ 2” paint brush, few old newspapers

Colourman paints, fabric paint and stencils will be provided for students’ use in the class, but please bring any available stamps, stencils or paint
