Embroidered Memory Books – Monday & Tuesday

Join Mother and daughter Primmy and Jessie Chorley for a two day inspirational workshop concentrating on creating your own story book inspired by the work of Jessie and Primmy.
Although the pair work in a similar way with a passion for hand embroidery they also both have their own unique way and style.Jessie will demonstrate the simple techniques that she uses including working with thin wire and fabric combined with simple embroidery stitches and the placing of found objects to start to create a narrative, while Primmy will also demonstrate her own way of working with dense embroidery using thin wool and the placing of her chosen fabrics to create a story. You will learn how to construct a simple book using cotton and wool fabrics that Jessie and Primmy will provide for you at the beginning of the class. You will then learn how to start your story on the cover and throughout the pages and end up creating a tie for the book to tie your finish storybook together.
