Paper, Mark and Stitch One Day
Workshop Information
An experimental workshop to explore the character and qualities of paper and other found material as a surface for working. A focus on stitching as an extension of mark making and making a line, Machine or hand stitch combined with an exercise in basic drawing and mark making to help with design. You will need calico, cotton or similar to stitch on as well as paper and drawing materials. Creative ways of developing ideas through mixed media including dyeing and staining pages, drawing with found objects, stitching and layering to open up the thought processes to the creation of your own work.
What students will achieve: A sketchbook or sample drawing started reflecting your own journey and interest. This collage approach is a means for students to achieve great confidence in composition, colour, design and their own drawing and mark making skills in an imaginative way.
Can be a continuation of the weekend workshops.
