EXTRA DATE!!! A Very English Baltimore – Jo Colwill
Workshop Information
This is an additional workshop for those who are interested in starting or have started my very English Baltimore Quilt which is a set of 12 blocks one for each month of the year plus a centre design which is based on the farm. The blocks can be either copied exactly or taken for inspiration, my idea is to sell a design each month £ 15 with instructions (like a block of the month). The price for this workshop includes 2 months of drawings. We will also have fabric packs available but thought that possibly you may all have enough fabric at home!!!! You will be able to choose one month to start. The blocks can be sewn in traditional Baltimore colours of Turkey Reds Victorian Green and highlights of blue and gold or using your own colour scheme.
I am tremendously excited about this new quilt and as you know, I do appliqué my template free way, I will talk and demonstrate different ways of building up your hand appliqué, hand embellishment and ink drawing which are all traditional. Hand appliqué is time consuming but so rewarding and I hope this will be a masterpiece of your very own by the end of the project. You can use the ideas and adapt or follow mine, but a Baltimore quilt tells a story like “Elly Sienkiewicz” book, spoken with out a word the fabric and drawings tell the story .
This is a bit of a mega project but very special you could just start one block or use the techniques to make a cushion or small project.
