Willow Fairy

Come and create her on to fabric, using machined applique and a selection of fabrics and threads to create a small wallhanging.

The fairy is traced on to your backing fabric, and then applied using bonda web, with a small zig zag stitch sewn around the fairy, all enhanced with free machining.
 
On the day you will need to bring –
 
Background fabric, preferably plain or plainish – about a metre, which will be enough for the backing as well, (this is if you wish to make it into a wall hanging – if you intend framing the picture you will need only enough for the picture.)
Blue or blue green organza for the water
Small pieces for the fairy of the following colours –
            Several different greens – any type of fabric (can be silk, polyester, mixtures, etc). for the leaves, plus the body of the fairy
            Flesh colour, for the face and hands
            Coloured organza for the wings
Machine threads to co-ordinate, i.e., greens, flesh colour, brown, plus a metallic (gold or similar) to go around the wings, the rayon threads do look good for the free machining.
 
You will also need to bring
Sewing Machine, with open toed foot and darning foot
Bonda web
Fine pencil
Stitch and tear, or other type of stabiliser
