African Jazz

Africa is full of bright, vibrant fabrics:  from the wax prints that women wear every day to work 
and market to ceremonial garments that are big, beautiful and expensive. Many of these African fabrics are 
distinguished by designs that are – to the western eye – quite large. 
 
For the non-African textile enthusiast, working with these large designs can be a challenge. In this workshop, we’ll meet the challenge, using these large-print African fabrics to create a bright, vibrant and jazzy quilt. Intermediate.  Suitable for someone with basic patchwork and quilting skills who wants to develop improvisational design skills and improve her sewing skills.
