Its spring and love is in the air at Hillside Cottage, there is blossom on the trees, the bees are busy making honey, the birds are thinking of nesting and there are flowers everywhere. Whether you are making Spring at Hillside Cottage into a cushion or you have collected all four patterns and are making the Four Seasons at Hillside Cottage wall hanging this clever combination of appliqué and stitchery is sure to delight.
Approx. finished size 33cm x36cm (13” x 14”)
Ready to iron-on transfer included in pattern.
Welcoming Lynette back to Cowslip to run this workshop on a Spring Cushion design from one of a set of 4 seasonal cushions. Lynette is going to rework a new version of this in her new fabrics especially for Cowslip and this class.
During the workshop we will focus on doing needle turn applique using a simple technique that Lynette learnt over 30 years ago and a new applique technique that uses the amazing Apliquick tools.
All students will receive a copy of the Spring Cushion pattern to take home to complete the project.
Requirements:
20cm (8”) cream on cream print
40cm (16”) pale blue floral print
25cm sq. (10” sq) wool for scalloped border
Scraps no less than 3” sq. for appliqué, beehive & door, house & door, roof
40cm (16”) iron-on lightweight batting
20cm (8”) stitchery stabilizer
optional Cosmo stranded cottons, I used white, #236 Dusky Pink, #895 Charcoal, #575 old gold, #982 Blue, #312 dark brown, #925 dark green, #368 light brown and #924 green
