Drawing with your sewing machine – Janet Clare

Welcome to Cowslip to Janet who has published many lovely books and designed gorgeous fabric collections for Moda. This workshop is a good introduction to the techniques Janet uses to achieve her appliqué and quilting style. She teaches through a series of fun group exercises in the morning and then in the afternoon everyone is free to create their own appliqué blocks or pictures with her help. She’ll help people design their own pictures and can draw any templates required (well, she’ll have a good try!)A free jointed dog template for everyone is included in the workshop. Come along to this fun workshop and learn how to transform and personalise your appliqué with Janet’s quick and simple method. Honestly, no real life drawing skills are required! 
 
 Students requirements

Sewing machine: set up for free motion quilting (darning foot and feed dogs down)
Normal sewing kit
Black/ dark sewing thread preferably polyester
Bondaweb/ Fusible web
Calico/ plain neutral fabric
Scraps for appliqué
Wadding pieces
Pencil and paper
