Trapunto – Barbara Chainey

We’re so excited that Barbara has agreed to venture into Cornwall. I first met Barbara at Katherine Letherby’s and found Barbaras’ traditional quilts and handstitching extremely inspirational. All they require is a little time and patience. A refreshing look at old techniques, something to do in the cold winter evenings and no special tools needed!
“Stitch it and Stuff it”
This relaxed pace workshop is strictly hand stitching only and explores a selection of traditional teckniques of cording and stuffing (trapunto) using one of Barbara’s exclusive designs.
Student Requirments
Please bring your usual hand sewing things (thimble, needles) and include

Fabric market of your choice
A few pins
1 x 20″ approx square of unprinted cotton fabric, either cream or white, a fat quarter will be fine
Cotton sewing thread to match your fabric
Any embroidery/perle threads you have – this is not an essential
A large, blunt tipped needle eg bodkin, knitters needle
Scissors for snipping threads
Your reading closework glasses
