Make a beautiful bespoke lampshade in the fabric of your choice. Learn how to bind the lampshade frame, make a template, cover the shade and line it with a balloon lining. If you wish to recover your favourite lampshade it will need to be a simple shape. Students requirements

Lampshade frame with struts (available on the day from £8)

Approx. 70cm of fabric & matching thread (try to avoid obvious horizontal and vertical patterns because the fabric will be used on the diagonal)

Stretch lining fabric (available on the day approx. £3 per shade)

Approx 50cm calico

Lampshade binding tape (available on the day 20p per m)

Plenty of headed pins

Needle, Thimble, Pencil & Scissors
Sewing machine if you have one
