Floating Pinwheels
Workshop Information
A fun day with Helen learning how to make floating pin wheels, different shapes and sizes, suitable for beginner or those with more experience to take further tips and techniques for quick perfect piecing, either copy one of our quilts , we have made a lovely boy type quilt with janet clares “flight” including simple bonded areoplanes, or several new baby quilts are in the making with lovely new moda spring fabric, inspiration either copy our designs or adapt to your own. Quilting and finishing will be discussed but probably wont get that far on the day, unless making a cushion.
Students requirements
For flight quilt, approx 20 mixed fat quarters or scrap bag and 2m of plain or co-ordinating fabric
For baby quilt or sofa throw, atleast 8 fat quarters or co-ordinating fabrics or to keep the colours simple 3 x .75cms with 1m plain for borders
Rotary cutting equipment
Basic sewing kit with matching threads
Backing can be made of left over’s for a pieced back
Sewing machine in good working order and instructions and ¼” foot
