Ribbon Dance

Ribbon Dance is a large quilt using an eclectic range of fabrics on a plain spot background.
The centre design and the ribbon borders are hand appliquéd and there are tiny paper hexagons between them.
There is quite a bit of technique covered in this class.
The main part of the quilt is hand pieced hexagons and diamonds stitched in rows surrounding the centre medallion.
This quilt looks gorgeous in any colour palette,  Mine is handmade but the hexagons can be machine pieced if desired.
It is hand quilted and there are acrylic templates available which are £15 and payable to Judy on the day (we may have some earlier if you need them before).
Requirements – Quilt size: 2m x 2m (hand pieced and quilted)

1.5m (1 ¾ yds) of background for centre and diamonds
2.1m (2 ½ yds) of border pink spot
60cm (3/4 yd) tiny black check or houndstooth, for ribbons
25cm (fat ¼) of 5 spot fabrics
Assorted patterned fabrics (3 metres in total) fat 8ths or Fat quarters etc.
7 5/8” papers
1 pack of 50 ½” papers (these can be reused)
60cm (3/4 yd) binding fabric
4.5m (5 yds) backing fabric
2.2m batting
DMC Perle 8 Blanco for hand quilting
Thread for hand piecing
