Sundial Jelly Roll Quilt

With Christmas not far off, how about impressing your family and friends with a gift of a quilt for Christmas.  The Sundial quilt (55in x 55in) is quick and easy to make and looks far more difficult than it really is. You will be amazed at how quickly it goes together and how much you can accomplish in just one day. This quilt is featured in our book Jelly Roll Quilts in a Weekend.
You need to be able to divide your jelly roll into either lights or darks or into two different colourways, as this creates the design. Artistic licence can be used here but there definitely needs to be a distinction between the two.  Rotary cutting and machine sewing.
SUITABLE FOR CONFIDENT BEGINNER
REQUIREMENTS
Sewing machine with a couple of full bobbins
Usual sewing kit
Rotary cutting equipment to include large
quilting ruler at least 6½in wide.  If you don’t
have one I will have a couple to use on the day.
Fabric Requirements for Sundial Quilt (55in x 55in)
One jelly roll or forty 2½in x 42in strips cut from your stash.
90cms border fabric but this will not be needed on the day
BEFORE CLASS
You need to divide your jelly roll into either lights or darks or into two different colourways, as this creates the design. You need eighteen of each. Artistic licence can be used here but there definitely needs to be a distinction between the two.  Please divide your jelly roll strips before coming to class to save time. Don’t stress too much about this as we can make sure everything is okay before starting.
