Cowslip Christmas Housey Quilt
Workshop Information
Both these housey quilts can be used as inspiration for a Christmas version. I started this blues housey quilt in lock down and then it got pushed to the side just before Malvern I had my new Bernina 570 with embroidery and had a little splurge with the embroidery as it was quicker than hand applying everything. It is a mish mashy quilt but I love it with all the animals, hexi flowers etc.
You can bring any bits of fabric, printed blocks even blocks you have made already, a simple drawing of your house or garden shed, I didn’t have a template I just cut the fabric to make a simple house and machined it down, it’s all quick techniques and fun, the allium flowers were made of crazy fabric but work really well, you can embellish as much or as little as you like, I find it easier making fabric flowers than growing them in the garden!!!!! It is a dream on quilt!
I love this type of quilt whether just a repeated simple house, like School House just in 2 colours, or making a door hanging or throw with a specific house. Come and either copy my pattern or make up your own it doesn’t have to be mega complicated.
We are also just starting a new pieced house quilt using the new French general, which is going to be gentle houses in a spring flower garden
