Play Day
Workshop Information
Come and enjoy a day of experimenting with fabric, dye and stitch. With the Lighthouse Workshop in mind (but open to anyone who would like to try out some new techniques) this is a day of creating some of the dyeing and stitching effects I use in my work. Subjects covered will include shibori dyeing, over-dying of fabrics and the uses of dissoluble fabric (for effects such as clouds or making your own unique fabric from thread and fabric tangles/found objects). We will also be looking at creative possibilities of stitches when making a collaged fabric picture.
This is a day to dabble with dyeing and experiment with some of those bits of ephemera and favourite fabric scraps you can’t quite bear to throw away.
