This workshop is ideal for those of you who have either been to my “embroidery for beginners” workshops or who are confident with basic stitches such as back, chain, stem stitches and French knots
With a seaside theme we will be exploring some different stitches such as blanket pinwheel, double feather, bullion knot/ detached chain combination, rope, cast on, whipped wheel etc. After practising the stitches, we will then start to create a seaside picture which can then be completed at home – think coastal plants and sea creatures and also boats, lobster pots, fishing nets, driftwood etc
We will be working in a hoop which will also be used as a frame for the finished picture.  I will make up kits which will cost between £10- £15, payable on the day. The kits will include a painted background picture a variety of threads and a hoop
This is one of three workshops that I will be running this year. If you decide to come to more than one, each workshop will have some different stitches for you to try and also a different seaside themed picture to complete
Requirements
Embroidery needles – bring a selection to allow for different thicknesses of thread
Embroidery scissors
Frixion pen or your choice of water/air erasable pens for drawing on fabric
