Diamond Stars Quilt

Diamond Stars (66in x 72in) is one of our latest quilts and it made the front cover of Today’s Quilter this year.  It is a design which at first sight looks as though it has been hand pieced but with clever use of the 60⁰ triangle, we have pieced it on the sewing machine.  The 60⁰ ruler is so versatile and in this quilt we have used it to cut triangles and two sizes of half-hexagons to create the design.  I will have some triangles available for use on the day and also some to purchase if required.
The blocks are not difficult to make and in this workshop you will learn all the techniques necessary and you will make a great start on your quilt.  The blocks are sewn together in vertical rows and you do need a bit of space for this.  We shall have fun finding out how we get on!  Rotary cutting and machine sewing.
SUITABLE FOR INTERMEDIATE (SOMEONE WHO HAS MADE A QUILT BEFORE)
REQUIREMENTS
Sewing machine with a couple of full bobbins
Usual sewing kit
Rotary cutting equipment
Creative Grids 60⁰ triangle (CGT60) or other
 60⁰ triangle at least 8in tall – I will have a few
for you to use on the day and I will also have
 some for you to purchase.
Fabric Requirements for Diamond Stars (66in x 72in)
Seven fat quarter metres
3.25m background fabric
