Two Day Fabric Printing – Sophie Fordham

Using wild life and the beautiful outdoors to inform and inspire, this two day fabric printing workshop will give you the space and time to work on larger pieces of fabric. Day one will concentrate on laying down background colour/ pattern, using simple surface dyeing and painting techniques. Day two will be adding more interest and detail using different kinds of relief printing blocks, such as  lino, sticky back foam and rollers, to print repeated patterns onto the fabric. These are all simple printing blocks that can be made and printed at home too. 
Students requirements
– An apron or old clothes
– Sketches or ideas to work from
– Fabric to print onto.
Sophie will supply all other materials needed & usually charges the individual student for the materials they each use. This varies depending on the amount of lino they use etc, but its not normally more than £5 each.
