Scandinavian Christmas Quilt. Lynette Anderson

Workshop Information

Price: £110.00

During the workshop we will work on the ‘Winter Friends’ block. The techniques I will demonstrate during the day will include, applique using the revolutionary Apliquick tools, simple embroidery stitches and we will hand piece a 3” churn dash block together.
Feel free to change the colours of the fabric you use to make your quilt unique to you, remember if you change the fabric colours to select embroidery threads to match your fabrics.
Per-workshop Preparation – Before class you need to pre-trace the stitchery design for the ‘Winter Friends’ block onto your chosen background fabric. You will recieve the full pattern for the quilt during this class (the cost of this is included in your fee)
Cut background fabric 131⁄2” x 161⁄2” (this will be trimmed to size later). Using a light source such as a lightbox or window centre the background fabric right side up over the design and carefully trace using a fine tipped fabric marking pen. I use a Brown (Sepia) Pigma pen which gives a lovely fine line that is easily covered by the embroidery, however it is permanent so it’s important to be accurate when tracing.
Please note: Something to think about, if you choose to use a Frixion pen you need to be aware that if you need press your fabric before starting to work or during work in class all the lines you have drawn will disappear which is very upsetting.
Winter Friends Block:
These winter friends have gathered together at the end of the day around the toadstools, I wonder what they are talking about? Maybe they are planning what games to play when no one is looking in the middle of the night! Or perhaps they are deciding what they are going to have for dinner tonight! I hope that you enjoy stitching them as much as I enjoyed drawing them.
